Promotion Update

Angela Lumba, MD, Angela Lumba, MD, is promoted to Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Emergency Medicine.  After earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Boston College, Dr. Lumba received her medical degree at St. George’s University Medical School then completed a residency in Pediatrics at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, Valhalla, NY.  She then served a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at University of California, San Diego.  Her scholarly work has produced six peer reviewed papers and focuses on concussion and traumatic brain injury with funding from the ICTS.  Dr. Lumba is workgroup leader and lead author of the upcoming CDC Guidelines on Pediatric Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.   She also serves as Site PI of an NIH-funded, national multicenter treatment trial in status epilepticus (ESETT trial).   Dr. Lumba has served as  the Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, Director of the Pediatric Residency International Rotation in Roatan, Honduras, and Assistant Coursemaster of the Pediatric Clerkship Saigh Simulation Center.
